SST Terms and Conditions


The privacy of your customer data, orders and credit cards are important to us. We will not disclose or sell your customer data to any third party. We only send email newsletters to those who opt in.

Your credit card details are processed in real time by an independent payment gateway authorized by our bank, using online secure encryption.

Order Processing and Delivery

We strive to process every order within 2-3 business days following payment in cleared funds. Order cancelations may be subject to fees. Payment by online banking cannot be checked until the next business day. Orders for modified products are typically completed within 2-3 days. We will send you an email notifying you when your order has been shipped. Please allow 2-7 days for ground delivery domestically, or 1 week internationally. Orders for modified products cannot be canceled once shipped. Orders for modified or unmodified products canceled prior to shipment are subject to a 15% restocking fee. 

Product Returns (if purchased from SST directly)

Dealer policies may vary. If you purchased from an authorized SST dealer, we will defer to their policies. Any product bought from SST directly carries a 30-day money-back option, less shipping costs and a 15% restocking fee. If you choose to return the original product on an exchange basis, we will not charge the restocking fee, but the return policy is not valid on the exchanged unit.

If a new stock product suffers freight damage or happens to fail within the first 3 days of ownership, it will typically be replaced. If we cannot replace it with an identical unit, we will offer a full refund. After 3 days, defective stock units must be repaired under the manufacturer's warranty.

On receipt of a new product, we highly recommend package inspection for any obvious shipping abuse.  Any damages found should be pointed out to the delivering agent to ease the initiation of a damage claim.  If a product arrives with freight damage, it is the customer's responsibility to report it to us within 3 business days of receipt so a claim can be started. If you wait longer than that, we may not be able to instigate a claim. We do work with every customer to resolve freight damages in a timely manner. 

B-Stock products and promotions, unless otherwise stated, are exempt from our returns policy; all sales are final on those items.


Manufacturer warranty will be voided if any evidence of unauthorized modifications, repairs or tampering is determined.

Spread Spectrum Technologies products hold a five year warranty for the original purchaser, bought from an authorized dealer, which begins on the date of purchase. If the product is transferred from the original owner to a second owner, it will have a warranty for the remainder of the first year of purchase from the original owner.  Remote controls and other accessories are warranted for the first 30 days after date of purchase. We do require that a valid warranty registration form is submitted on our website within the first 30 days of purchase to activate the warranty. Full details can be found in the your product user manual.

If a hardware defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty period, at its option, Spread Spectrum Technologies will either (1) repair the hardware defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or (2) exchange the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product. Spread Spectrum Technologies is not responsible for freight charges to or from our facility for warranty repairs. Spread Spectrum Technologies may option that you replace defective parts with new or refurbished user-installable parts that Spread Spectrum Technologies provides in fulfillment of its warranty obligation. A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part that has been installed in accordance with instructions provided by Spread Spectrum Technologies, assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes Spread Spectrum Technologies' property. Parts provided by Spread Spectrum Technologies in fulfillment of its warranty obligation must be used in products for which warranty service is claimed. When a refund is given, the product for which the refund is provided must be returned to Spread Spectrum Technologies and becomes Spread Spectrum Technologies' property. 


Spread Spectrum Technologies does not warrant that the operation of the product will be uninterrupted or error-free. Spread Spectrum Technologies is not responsible for damage arising from failure to follow instructions relating to the product's use. This warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by use with non-Spread Spectrum Technologies products; (b) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes; (c) to damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Spread Spectrum Technologies; (d) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Spread Spectrum Technologies or a Spread Spectrum Technologies Authorized Service Provider; (e) to a product or part that has been modified to significantly alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Spread Spectrum Technologies (f) if any Spread Spectrum Technologies serial number has been removed or defaced; (g) to damage caused by excessive voltage beyond rated power supply capacities.
